Why Is Keir Starmer being protected? - Boris wasn’t so lucky.

There’s something rotten in the state of Britain, and it’s not just the economy, the borders or the broken promises from Westminster. No, it’s the stinking hypocrisy of our so called free press, bending over backwards to shield their golden boy, Sir Keir Starmer, from the kind of scrutiny they gleefully inflicted on Boris Johnson day after day.

Remember Boris?… of course you do, you couldn’t escape him. Every inch of his personal life was served up on a silver platter for public consumption, from who he dated, what wallpaper he paid for, how many kids he had and with who, to what mood his wife was in, the press treated it all like a national security issue. There wasn’t a single sneeze from Boris that didn’t trigger a feeding frenzy in the BBC and Guardian newsrooms, he couldn’t blow his nose without it becoming a week long media circus.

Fast forward to today, Keir Starmer is sitting in power, Labour’s at the wheel and suddenly the cameras go dark, no exposés, no deep dives and no headlines asking questions about his family shape or set up. Nothing. It’s as if Sir Keir is some sort of sacred cow the media daren’t touch… but why?

We’re told he’s a “private man.”… really? That excuse didn’t wash with Boris, so why does it fly now?…why the double standards? Why do we know everything about Boris’s family, alleged affairs, and dinner parties, yet barely a whisper about Starmer’s inner circle, his home life, or the very loud whispers of “complications” in his personal setup?

Let’s not be coy, there are rumours swirling Westminster, some pretty serious ones. And if even half of them had involved Boris or any right leaning figure, they’d have been front page news for weeks. But with Starmer?…nothing, total radio silence. 

The media class isn’t just asleep at the wheel, they’ve thrown the car keys into the Thames and gone for cocktails with their Labour mates.

It’s not just about fairness, It’s about trust. The same trust that’s now in free fall. Starmer’s approval rating is minus 40. That’s catastrophic. Sixty five percent of the public see him for what he is, a cold, awkward technocrat, who doesn’t inspire a soul. Labour are slipping. The gloss is fading. People are starting to wake up, and it’s making the establishment nervous.

So here’s the question, when Starmer becomes more of a liability than an asset, will those in the shadows finally pull the ripcord?…will the real stories, the ones that journalists have clearly been sitting on, start to drip out? 

I’d say that’s very likely. The same media that built him up might soon tear him down, not out of duty, but because they’ll have someone new to push.

The double standards are a disgrace. The public deserve transparency, not selective outrage. If we’re going to hold politicians to account, let’s do it fairly. No more free passes for Sir Keir, no more media protection rackets, open the books, let’s see who he really is.

Because if we don’t, we’re not living in a democracy, we’re living in a managed illusion.
