We’re failing our own kids while handing hotels and benefits to Illegals and foreigners.
Let me tell you something from the heart, because I’m a dad before anything else. My own son is dyslexic and has ADHD. I’ve sat in meetings with teachers, specialists, SENCOs, and watched them do their best to support a kid that has to learn differently. Not wrongly, just differently. And I’ve seen what a lifeline that extra support can be… it’s the difference between a child feeling like they can achieve something in life, or being chucked in the corner and written off…It matters.
Now this Labour Government, barely in office five minutes, is sharpening the axe and heading straight for the most vulnerable kids in our schools. They’re looking to tighten the criteria for Education, Health and Care Plans, those EHCPs that are already a battle to get in the first place and they’re pretending it’s about “targeting resources better”. Don’t insult our intelligence. It’s a cut, plain and simple.
Do you know what it takes for a child to get an EHCP?…parents crying in meetings, letters from GPs, months on waiting lists, some families even shelling out for private assessments because the NHS is backed up for years…( we paid for an assessment) and when they finally get it, the plan becomes their legal shield, a protection that ensures their school gives them the tools to succeed. Now Labour wants to move the goalposts, they’re planning to rip that protection away from thousands of kids and bury it in some fluffy language about “early intervention” and “mainstream settings”.
You’re not fooling anyone Keir.
Here’s the blunt truth, supporting SEND kids properly costs money, It’s not going to be a vote winner, so instead, they’ll squeeze and strangle it, just like every Government before them. They won’t say “we’re cutting support for kids like Adam’s son”… oh no, they’ll dress it up as “streamlining services” and call it “sustainable”. What they won’t do, is sit across from a 10 year old who feels like a failure, just because he can’t keep up in class without help. What they won’t do is attend another appointment, or see their kid come home crying because he’s been misunderstood again.
Meanwhile, what do we spend money on? Let’s talk numbers…
£1.1 billion a month, that’s the bill for welfare payments to people born outside the UK. That’s from the Government’s own data.
£5.4 billion a year and counting, blown on housing asylum seekers in hotels, paying for their meals, their lawyers, interpreters, their NHS treatment, their everything.
And yet somehow, we’re supposed to believe we don’t have the money to give a dyslexic kid a teaching assistant for a few hours a week?
Are we mad?… we are paying more tax then ever !!!
This country is broken, and we’ve got it all the wrong way round. We look after everyone but our own and bend over backwards for people who just arrived, many illegally, but when it comes to a British kid with learning needs, suddenly there’s no budget and suddenly it’s “unaffordable”.
It’s disgusting.
We are either a nation that looks after its own or we are nothing. This isn’t xenophobia, it’s pure common sense. If we can’t protect the most vulnerable kids in our schools, the future is finished. If we carry on handing billions to everyone else while our own are left to rot, we’ll lose everything that made this country worth fighting for in the first place.
So I say this…enough is enough.
If the Government wants to balance the books, start by cutting off the free ride for people who’ve never paid in, stop spending my taxes on hotel rooms for 25 year old men who threw their IDs in the sea and now demand three hot meals a day.
Start putting British kids first, especially the ones who need help the most.
Because if we don’t?…then we deserve the decline that’s coming.
ADAM BROOKS

Great piece Adam, straight to the point of our failing nation.
When I look at the so called ‘front bench’ all I see is a row of self serving halfwits that lack any form of empathy towards the indigenous populace.
Look at Starmers eyes, nothing, just an automaton constantly looking down at a piece of something, probably a blank sheet of paper, a bit like his original thoughts, nonexistent!!…
They need to be gone!
Best wishes and good luck to your young man….
It is beyond me why successive government's going back to Blair have been so eager to destroy our country no matter what the people's wishes. We never asked for any of this. It has been pure lies Adam and continues today, every day they lie to us without fail and play a blame game between themselves never sorting out issues like the important one you highlight here. Britain has fallen my friend and I know it is very pessimistic, I'm sorry but I see no way back.
