Labour’s latest desperate move – Let the kids vote
Here we go again. Labour, desperate and scraping the barrel for votes, are now seriously pushing for 16 and 17 year olds to get the vote. Let that sink in, teenagers who can’t legally buy a pint, get a tattoo, drive a car, or even buy a scratch card, but Labour want them to choose who governs the fifth largest economy on earth… dangerous.
They can’t join the military without parental consent, can’t serve on a jury, can’t have a sunbed, can’t marry without approval and yet somehow we’re meant to believe they’ve got the political maturity and experience to decide the future of this country?
Why stop there, Labour? If we’re handing votes out like sweets, let’s give them to 14 year olds on TikTok too. Let them cast a vote in between Fortnite rounds and asking AI to do their homework. Utterly pathetic.
Labour’s logic? “Well, they pay tax.”
Rubbish, almost all 16 and 17 year olds don’t earn enough to go over the personal tax free threshold and even when they do, it’s normally on part time weekend jobs stacking shelves or serving coffee. That’s not a justification for handing them democratic power. Do we give the vote to anyone who earns £100 on EBay now?
This isn’t about rights, it’s about votes. Labour know they’ve lost the working class and they’ve lost the Red Wall. They’re losing the traditional family vote, the patriot vote, the common sense vote too, so now they want to reshape the electorate instead. Let’s be clear…they don’t respect 16 year olds, they just think they can manipulate them.
They know these kids are still stuck in the state education conveyor belt being spoon fed “diversity weeks”, climate hysteria, and gender politics by lefty activist teachers. They’re hoping to catch them before real life hits, before they get taxed into oblivion, mugged in the street, or can’t get a GP appointment because the country’s full.
But here’s the miscalculation, Labour don’t realise how many of these young people are watching Farage. He’s dominating social media, he’s viral, to them, he now somehow seems relatable. His social media is bigger than ALL the other parties combined. They’re not watching Starmer, they’re watching clips of Nigel saying what everyone else is too scared to say and there’s a real chance that Labour’s plan to flood the voting pool with teenagers will backfire. Voting is a privilege, not a fashion trend, It’s a responsibility, not a TikTok challenge. There has to be a line of maturity somewhere and 18 is already a low enough bar. Let them grow up first. Let them work a proper job, pay real tax, understand inflation, live through a Labour government… then let them vote.
This is just another classic case of Labour thinking “how do we win by bending the rules?” instead of actually fixing the country.
The public sees through this. They know it’s a desperate ploy by a party out of ideas and out of touch, let kids be kids and let the grown ups decide who runs the country.
LABOUR ARE SO PREDICTABLE.

Maybe change the school syllabus as well to include a subject called’The Benefits of Socialism’ so teachers can brainwash them from 5 years old.
A bit like North Korea actually
You're spot on the money as always Adam. Luckily most 16 year old I know can't be bothered thinking about politics.
