Did many Briton’s fall out of love with the Royals the moment the Queen passed?
The question we need to ask is simple, did Britain fall out of love with the Royals the moment the Queen passed? I think many did, not out of bitterness, but out of disappointment.
I’ll be honest, I did used to care, I really did. I’d sit for hours with my late nan, watching Royal weddings, Trooping the Colour and state events, she really adored the Queen, saw her as a rock, a symbol of strength, dignity and service to this country. Even if you weren’t a staunch monarchist, you couldn’t help but respect Her Majesty, she gave her life to the job, never put a foot wrong and somehow kept the whole circus together with a quiet steel.
But now?.. I couldn’t care less, the moment the Queen died, the ‘magic’ died with her.
We’ve gone from an iron clad head of The Royals, to a King who threw a tantrum over a pen, yes a pen. During the biggest moment of his life, King Charles III couldn’t keep his temper in check, what a snapshot of the new era, ego and petulance in my opinion.
And then there’s his constant virtue signalling and climate change lectures while he jets across the world. He can’t help himself, pushing the green agenda while the average Brit can’t afford their energy bill. He tells us to change how we live, while he sits in palaces lit like a Christmas tree. I don’t need the King telling me how to live, especially not from behind a velvet curtain of privilege.
As for the rest of them, the whole Harry and Meghan saga turned the institution into a soap opera. We’re no longer dealing with quiet dignity, we’ve got a real life Netflix documentary..Oprah interviews and private spats aired like dirty laundry. The Firm has become a PR disaster, with accusations, lies and counter lies… It’s so so embarrassing.
The monarchy was once a unifier, now it’s just another institution caught up in drama, hypocrisy and out of touch nonsense.
I wouldn’t get rid of them, because I think they’re part of our history and our British heritage, they attract billions in tourism, but for me, that childhood sense that they were something special, has completely gone.
My interest has gone.
My late nan would be gutted.

I was a massive fan of the late Queen , and I was trying to warm to her successor , even though he was a founder member of the WEF , but his comments to Sadiq Khan on giving him a knighthood has just finished me off !! And as I see it , there’s no hope for the future , as William is determined to carry on his legacy !
I agree Adam, the magic went with the late Queen along with that feeling of security she gave us.
